It has an auto switchover feature and a built in charger.
Meaning your equipment can run off the mains (220 volts) and when loadshedding happens it will switch over to the battery automatically.
Your equipment will not see the difference. Your PC will still be running and your decoder will not loose signal.
All you need to add is a battery. Once the loadshedding is over, the unit will charge the battery for the next round of loadshedding.
We've tested this particular inverter by running a PC with a 23" screen, an inkjet printer, a small p1102 laser printer and a DSTV decoder.
We printed several pages on the laser printer just to see if it could take the load and it did. ( Our printer takes 360 Watts when printing, but most laser printer take between 400 to 750 watts.)
